Verify the Vehicle is a free automotive intelligence platform that aggregates official government data into unified vehicle profiles. Our mission is to make vehicle safety information accessible to every car buyer and owner.
Our Mission
Every year, millions of Americans buy used cars without knowing their recall history, safety ratings, or known problems. Official government data exists for all of this, but it is scattered across multiple agencies, presented in technical formats, and difficult for average consumers to navigate.
Verify the Vehicle changes that. We aggregate data from NHTSA and the EPA into clean, easy-to-understand vehicle profiles. Every data point links back to its official source. We never fabricate, estimate, or infer data.
What We Are Not
Verify the Vehicle is not a vehicle history report service. We do not have access to accident records, ownership history, title information, insurance claims, or service records. For that information, you need a licensed provider like CARFAX or AutoCheck.
We focus exclusively on official government safety and efficiency data — the information that helps you understand if a vehicle is safe, has known defects, and how efficient it is.

Data Sources
All data on Verify the Vehicle comes from official US government sources. Every page displays the source of its data, the last verification date, and a link to the original government database.
Methodology
We present official government data directly, with recall severity labels derived transparently from NHTSA-provided flags and component type. We deliberately do not publish a composite “risk score,” and we use no secret algorithms or proprietary data — our approach is documented in full on the methodology page.
