Electrical issue
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR
Kia Motors America (KIA) is recalling certain 2020 Sedona vehicles. The battery positive (B+) terminal nut on the alternator may not have been tightened properly during assembly, possibly causing it to loosen over time.
Consequence
If the alternator B+ terminal nut loosens, electrical arcing may result, increasing the risk of a fire.
Full campaign recordRemedy
Kia will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator B+ terminal nut, tightening it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began August 14, 2020. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC192.

What the ratings mean
NHTSA gives the 2020 Kia Sedona 5 out of 5 stars overall, level with the 5-star median for the 4 comparable 2020 vehicles NHTSA rated in this class.
NHTSA published results for every NCAP test in this program, so the overall star rating rests on a complete set of crash and rollover results.
NHTSA's dynamic test put this vehicle's rollover probability at 13% in a single-vehicle crash — the figure behind the rollover star rating, published here because the star alone hides how wide each band is.

How this compares
At 21 MPG combined, the 2020 Kia Sedona ranks 4th of 5 minivan -s (2WD) EPA rated for 2020 — 1 MPG short of the 22 MPG median for that group.
That places it in the lower third of its class. If annual mileage is high, the running-cost gap against a class-average rival compounds quickly.
EPA puts annual fuel spend at about $2,950, $150 more than the $2,800 typical for the class. Over five years at 15,000 miles a year that is roughly $14,750, a $750 difference against a class-median vehicle.
Tailpipe CO₂ is 436 grams per mile — about 6.5 metric tons over 15,000 miles of driving.
