Elevated severity
This campaign addresses a defect NHTSA classifies as carrying elevated crash or injury risk.
What the defect is
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia vehicles. These vehicles may be equipped with tires that have a lesser load rating than intended for the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Why it matters
The incorrect tires can result in the operator overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the tires, and update the owner's manual with the correct load rating, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2021. Owners may contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US LLC's number for this recall is Y83.
What this page does not include
NHTSA's public recall feed does not supply an affected-population count, the manufacturer's own campaign number, owner-notification dates or a defect chronology for this campaign. Rather than estimate them, we omit them. Confirm whether a specific vehicle is affected — and whether the repair has already been done — using its VIN.
