STRUCTURE,LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES — Filed 06/18/2026

My [XXX] wife and I drove to a cardiac doctors appointment having just had a [XXX]. Upon arriving the passenger side door would not unlock. Tried opening with the interior door handle and it would still not open. Tried exterior door handle and could not open. Contacted BMW emergency they tried to remotely open did not work. Called dealership they said to try double pulling interior handle twice which of course we had already tried still wouldn’t open. MY WIFE WAS TRAPPED WITH NO WAY TO GET OUT decided to try driving to dealership rather than calling fire department. Upon arriving the service provider tried to open but couldn’t do so. All this time my wife is sitting there with no way out other than trying to literally drag her over the center console which would cause her great pain. The service provider asked us to wait until a mechanic got off lunch and hoped that he could help otherwise she said 911 would have to be called. When mechanic arrived he couldn’t open and said that he also couldn’t open door panel because door has to be open to do so. The interior door handle was frozen so he decided to pull with great force and a horrible breaking noise was made and the door finally opened. The estimate to repair was $2320.00. With great effort from my service provider and an assist from the dealership itself BMW agreed to pay most of bill and only charged for parts $94.33 which I paid. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY VIOLATION. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SHOULD NOT LOCK UP AND BECOME NON OPERATIONAL .HAD THERE BEEN A FIRE OR UNDERWATER THERE WAS NO ESCAPE FOR MY WIFE. This is a 2023 BMW X7 61000 miles no accidents perfect condition INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

VISIBILITY/WIPER — Filed 09/19/2022

The vehicle has a glare issue affecting the side mirrors, which impacts visibility while driving. The glare appears to be caused by reflective chrome trim on the dashboard near the air vent, which reflect light into the side mirrors under certain lighting conditions. this creates a safety concern and affects my ability to comfortably and confidently operate the vehicle. the issue has been demonstrated to the dealership on multiple occasions, including prior to June 17th, but does not appear to have been fully documented or resolved. i have also observed similar reflection behavior in other BMW vehicles once pointed out, suggesting this may be related to design or materials rather than an isolated issue. "This occurs intermittently depending on sun angle/lighting conditions",

SERVICE BRAKES — Filed 08/28/2025

I ATTEMPTED TO HAVE SAFETY RECALL 24V-104(INTEGRATED BRAKE SYSTEM MALFUNTION) PERFORMED AT BMW DEALERSHIP BMW AUSTIN, 7011 MCNEIL DR. AUSTIN, TX 78729-7687 PHONE (512)343-3570 ON AUGUST 28 2025 AT 11;00AM WITH JASON SANTOSUOSSO. THIS SERVICE ADVISORY TOLD ME THE RECALL IS NOT COVERED, BECAUSE MY VEHICLE HAS 36,100 MILES-JUST 100 MILES OVER THE 36,000-MILE FACTORY warranty. HE INFORMED ME THAT BMW 'DENIED" THE REPAIR AND THA I WOULD NEED TO PAY $1900. OUT OF POCKET, (INCLUEDE OIL CHANGE $329), EVEN THOUGH THIS A FEDERAL SAFETY RECALL. AS PER NHTSA REGULATIONS, RECALL REPAIRS MUST PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE, REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE OR WARRANTY EXPIRATION, REFUSING TO PERFORM A BRAKE-RELATED SAFETY RECALL DUE TO MILEAGE IS NOT ONLY UNREASONABLE BUT APPEARS TO VIOLATE FEDERAL LAW. THE VEHICLE REMAINS UNREPAIRED AND POSES A POTENTIAL SAFETY RISK TO MYSELF AND OTHERS. I AM REQUESTIG THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE THIS DENIAL OF SERVICE AND ENSUERE THAT BMW ANT ITS DEALERSHIPS COMPLY WITH THE RECALL LAWS.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER — Filed 07/03/2025

We are the original Owner of a 2023 BMW X7 with 17,500 miles. The past 2+ months the screen/display will go blank for up to 30 seconds while driving the vehicle. Obviously this is a serious safety issue. We took the vehicle for service where it was originally purchased at BMW I will say, this issue is very disappointing, scary, and disturbing. The vehicle was originally brought into service on 7/3 and no resolution for the problem has been presented as of yet. According to the Service Advisor, multiple software updates have been applied and the screen/display has been replaced twice, still no resolution. Brought back into Dealership on 7/23/2025 for the same repeated and dangerous issue Brought back again on 8/3/2025 for the same repeated issue. We were promised it was fixed. Drove the car 4 hours, and once again the screen/display went blank.
