I am submitting this complaint regarding the transmission in my 2019 Ford Expedition because I believe it presents a serious safety hazard that should be investigated for a safety recall. My vehicle has approximately 108,000 miles. While driving at highway speeds, particularly when attempting to pass another vehicle, the transmission will suddenly stop providing power to the wheels. The vehicle completely loses acceleration without warning, making it impossible to safely complete a passing maneuver. This creates an extremely dangerous situation because I am left vulnerable in fast-moving traffic with no ability to accelerate out of the way of other vehicles. What makes this defect even more concerning is that the vehicle does not set any diagnostic trouble codes or illuminate a warning light when the failure occurs. After the incident, the transmission resumes normal operation and drives as though nothing happened, making it difficult to diagnose despite the serious safety risk. I have found that many owners of 2019 Ford Expeditions and other Ford vehicles equipped with the 10-speed automatic transmission have reported similar symptoms. Many of these reports identify premature failure of the CDF drum as a likely cause of the transmission malfunction. While I cannot personally confirm the exact internal failure without disassembly, the symptoms my vehicle exhibits are consistent with those widely reported by other owners. A vehicle should not unexpectedly lose the ability to accelerate while traveling at highway speeds, especially during passing maneuvers where acceleration is essential for safety. This defect places drivers, passengers, and others on the road at risk of a serious crash. I respectfully request that this issue be thoroughly investigated and that, if a common manufacturing or design defect is confirmed, Ford be required to issue a safety recall so affected owners are not forced to bear the cost of repairing a defect that poses a significant risk t

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the transmission was shifting hard when shifting from park (P) to drive (D) or reverse (R). The contact stated that the hard shifting of the transmission also occurred while driving, with the transmission shifting from 4th to 5th gear and 6th, 7th, and 8th gear. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to identify a transmission failure, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,000.

AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS — Filed 07/18/2026

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Explorer. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V099000 (Seat Belts). While driving approximately 45 MPH and approaching an intersection, the air bag warning light illuminated. There was an abnormally loud sound like a gunshot coming from the vehicle, and smoke was inside the vehicle. The front passenger’s seat belt unexpectedly deployed and retracted on the side of the vehicle. The seat belt failed to move and became inoperable. Prior to the failure, the owner's daughter was seated in the front passenger’s seat. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.

POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL — Filed 07/06/2026

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the message "Vehicle in Park" was displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle unexpectedly shifted into park(P) on two separate occasions. There was an abnormally loud clunking sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V402000 (Power Train). The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER — Filed 07/15/2026

I have 3 small children so I am concerned about my car. The gear shift goes out of drive while driving. If you push the gas and then let up and push the gas again it won’t go and if you keep pushing the gas it will start fishtailing all over the road. You have to take your foot off the gas for a period of time until it goes back in gear which causes you to completely slow down and can cause a crash. When trying to give excessive gas it will disengage and won’t go. It will only engage 1 tire and cause it to fishtail. It has almost caused an accident multiple times because it slips out of gear and it currently has a recall for a similar issue. You can’t pull over or move over wile it disengages because you can’t go anywhere if you push the gas it just accelerates like it was in park. This is not an if something happens it’s a when something happens. Nobody else can drive my vehicle because they won’t know how to stop it from happening and they may get seriously hurt. SEAT BELTS — Filed 07/16/2026

The seatbelt failed, it retracted rapidly and locked into position. It left marks on my chest and a burn on my chest. The injury was from the tightened seatbelt. I was unable to easily get out of the seatbelt. The seatbelt will not work properly since it’s locked into place.

SEAT BELTS — Filed 07/12/2026

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the driver’s seat belt pretensioner exploded and locked the driver in extremely tightly. The contact was startled and lost control of the vehicle, and the vehicle almost drove into a ditch. The vehicle was stopped, and after approximately 10 minutes, the driver’s seat belt retracted. The contact stated that the shoulder belt webbing did not retract, but the contact was able to latch the seat belt and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the seat belt and pretensioner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

SEAT BELTS — Filed 07/16/2026

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the driver’s and front passenger’s side seat belts failed to operate properly. The driver’s and front passenger’s side air bags warning lights were illuminated. The contact received notification of NTHSA Campaign Number: 26V344000 (Seat Belts); and associated the failure with the recall. However, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

When turning on the truck there is an excessive rattle in the engine and it keeps on prolonging more and more.
