2019 Genesis G90 Complaints

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM — Filed 08/05/2026

My 2019 Genesis G90 (3.3L twin-turbo) previously received Recall 019G for the left turbocharger oil feed pipe at a authorized Genesis dealership. At approximately 137,508 miles, the right side turbocharger oil feed pipe failed. I experienced an engine oil leak, a strong burning oil smell, smoke from the engine compartment, engine light on, lost of power and oil leaking onto hot engine components. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent repair facility, which determined that the right turbocharger oil feed pipe required replacement. I contacted Genesis Motor America requesting goodwill assistance because the right side pipe is the matching component to to the recalled left side, but my request was denied because the recall only applies to the left side. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the failure of the right side oil feed pipe is presenting the same safety risk.

The contact owns a 2019 Genesis G90. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the contact became aware of an abnormal burning odor. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was blue smoke coming from underneath the hood. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that her fiancé test-drove the vehicle and noticed a significant amount of blue smoke coming from underneath the hood. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed, but the vehicle remained at the dealer. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V107000 (Electrical System) and 24V191000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); which the contact related to the failure; however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 GENESIS G90. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE DETECTED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTH BAY HYUNDAI (20433 HAWTHORNE BLVD, TORRANCE, CA 90503, (310) 974-8180) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.*DT*JB
