AIR BAGS — Filed 03/21/2026

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. While traveling on a two-lane highway at approximately 55 MPH, another vehicle suddenly turned into the contact's lane, resulting in a severe frontal "T-bone" collision. The force of the impact caused the other vehicle to be propelled into a ditch, while the contact's vehicle remained on the roadway. Despite the significant nature of the crash and the speed involved, no air bags deployed. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 218,000.

ENGINE — Filed 03/13/2026

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, he observed a popping noise beneath him. The contact stopped the vehicle and observed smoke emanating from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle went into limp mode, lost power, and when the brake was depressed, the vehicle did not slow the vehicle down as intended. The contact stated that as he pulled into a parking lot to inspect the vehicle, he observed flames emanating from the hood. The contact stated that he pressed the hood latch, which did not open the hood, and he then exited the vehicle and observed the hood engulfed in flames. The contact mentioned that a store employee brought a fire extinguisher out and attempted to extinguish the flames. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire fully. There was no police report, but the police did come out to assist. The contact sustained a right-hand injury, but medical attention was not needed. The vehicle was then towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM — Filed 02/21/2026

I remote started my truck, and when I got to it there was smoke and a flame coming from the rear power window. The remote start activates the rear defrosters, which started the electrical issues. I shut off the engine, and a loud pop followed, which was the shattering of the driver side rear window. The flame went out, and could have easily ignited the tarp covering the truck bed. There were no warnings on the console for the issue, and no recalls available. I have seen similar recall, but in a different state and back in 2022. This leaves me with a shattered window in the back, which is unsafe for visibility, and a bill to pay due to manufacturing errors for a feature in the truck. The rear window is all melted, and the glass is chipping away.

The brake system failed in a parking lot three times within a month. It’s related to the special policy and recall regarding the vacuum and the loss of brakes at slower speeds and in reverse. The first two accidents were very minor creating no damage. The third one was at 10mph when I lost my brakes and crashed into a concrete barrier in a parking structure causing significant damage to my truck. I did not get injured but I have a wife and two kids that I am so grateful were not in the truck for the third one with major damage. With that being said my son was in the truck the second time it happened when I crashed into a parked vehicle in a parking lot because I was unable to stop which made me very frustrated and worried for my families safety in my truck. The first accident was in a parking lot where I was backing up and lost the brakes and crashed into a building which is my veterinary office causing damage to the building. Therefore after the first crash due to this issue I have decided that driving with my family in the truck is not an option anymore. It is very disappointing that a truck I purchased for the functionality and safety of having my wife and kids in it is no longer safe for passengers or myself in it. This problem is very reproducible and is a major concern for my family and my safety. It was towed to a GMC dealership in Waukesha and is being inspected and they have stated it is reproducible. No warning lamps or messages were indicated for this issue. The truck will next need to get towed to Crash Champions auto body repair to ultimately get repaired which will take another month. All of this is a major inconvenience as I am a full time firefighter and in paramedic school as well. Not having a reliable safe vehicle for an extended period of time has caused great stress and inconvenience to my family. I’m hoping and praying that something can be done about this quickly and promptly to make this right. Thank you.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another vehicle spontaneously switched lanes onto her lane, causing the contact to swerve out of the way and crash into the median; however, no airbags were deployed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The insurance company deemed the vehicle totaled. The contact injured her neck, back, and several other places, and she received medical attention. A police report was made. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that her vehicle had previously been repaired under an unknown airbag recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that when doing the initial start, the rear of the vehicle began smoking and caught on fire. The contact turned off the vehicle and the fire settled however shortly after the rear window fractured. There were no injuries and no medical attention needed. There was no fire report. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who stated that the window needed to be replaced and there was a Canadian recall (Manufacturer Number N192220470 ) for the rear windows defrost failing. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 152,000.

SERVICE BRAKES — Filed 12/31/2022

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated her husband was driving when the vehicle in front of them applied the brakes unexpectedly, the driver depressed the brake pedal but failed to stop the vehicle due to the brake pedal being resistant/ rigid causing the vehicle to rear-end the other vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated no one was injured nor sought medical attention. A police report was filed. The driver was able to continue driving to their destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the vacuum pump had to be replaced. The dealer replaced the vacuum pump back in October of 2022. The vehicle was repaired but the second vacuum pump was also defective and the dealer replaced it on-site for a third time. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,500. The contact stated that the failure speed was no more than 70 mph.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving in stop and go traffic and attempting to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop as anticipated instead the vehicle slid into the vehicle in front of them. The brake pedal began to vibrate and a skipping. The vehicle ended up crashing into the rear of the vehicle in front. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There were no injuries and no medical attention was needed. The vehicle was not towed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who were unable to identify the cause for the failure. The vehicle's alternator shocks, braking pump lines, and updated the computer system however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that whenever the brake pedal was depressed several electrical issues would occur like with the navigation screen and all windows would shut off. There were many warning lights including the air bag and stability control. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 80,000.

I was towing a camper down Rt 422 in Butler, PA in my GMC truck when it suddenly caught fire. My wife was following me and alerted me to pull over as quickly as possible. I had no brakes and the gear shifter went straight up without shifting. The doors would also not open while the truck was filling with smoke. I got out using the manual unlock knob and am lucky to be alive. We had about one minute to try to extinguish the flames before it fully engulfed both my truck and camper. I filed a complaint with GMC. By what I am reading online there are many instances of fires and GMC does not seem to provide assistance. This is very unnerving and scary to say the least. I am sad and angry for this situation. This happened through no fault of my own and I lost absolutely everything. I was in the middle of moving to start a new job and lost many work items in my truck as well. I had to delay my start date for work. Now I am responsible for deductables, insurance increases and other items not covered by my insurance. Now I have to buy a new vehicle and camper but what will GMC do to help me? Probably nothing.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND TOTALED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE PASSENGER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE CHEST AND LOWER ABDOMEN AREA. THE ONLY MEDICAL ATTENTION RECEIVED WAS BY EMT AT TIME OF THE CRASH. THE BRAKES FAILED AS MY SON APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION. SUBSEQUENTLY, HE STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE BROADSIDE. EXTENSIVE DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO BOTH VEHICLES. THE DRIVER REPORTED THAT HE PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. AFTER I INVESTIGATED FURTHER FOR AN EXPLANANTION,I DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON HIS BRAKE SYSTEM THAT MIGHT EXPLAIN BRAKE FAILURE. THE CRASH OCCURRED ON A CITY STREET.

WHILE PARKED AND IDLING IN A PARKING LOT WITH PASSENGERS IN VEHICLE, THERE WAS A SIZZLING SOUND FOLLOWED BY A FLAME FLICKER OBSERVED DIRECTLY BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SIDE, REAR PASSENGER SEAT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE REAR, DRIVER'S SIDE GLASS PANEL. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE REAR, DRIVER'S SIDE GLASS PANEL SHATTERED. MY VEHICLE HAS REAR SLIDING GLASS AND ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE PANEL SHATTERED. SMOKE AND BURNING SMELL WAS NOTICEABLE. AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THE GM RECALL #N192220470 RELATED TO 159,000 CANADIAN VEHICLES. MY SITUATION MATCHED THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS RECALL EXACTLY, BUT ACCORDING TO GM, MY VIN# IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT MY LOCAL CHEVY/GMC DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR, BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO HAVE MUCH CONCERN ABOUT THE SAFETY FAILURE AND TOLD ME THE REPAIR IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. TO ME, THIS IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW AND POSES A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE.

HOWEVER, AFTER A FEW MONTHS, I DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD SEVERAL DEFECTS, AND IT EXPOSES ITS USERS TO SERIOUS THREAT. AFTER THAT, MINISTRY OF COMMERCE IN KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA HAS MADE SEVERAL CALLSFOR USERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE THAT THEY HAVE TO CHECK WITH THE REPRESENTATIVETO FIX THE DEFECT FOR FREE. HOWEVER, THE REPRESENTATIVE TEMPORIZED AND EVADED, THEN I HAD TO FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST ALJOMAIH AUTOMOTIVE COMPANY, GENERAL MOTORS’S REPRESENTATIVE IN THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA. THE COURT ORDERED THE EXPERTS' DEPARTMENT TO CHECKTHE VEHICLE BY FIVE SPECIALIZED WORKSHOPS, AND REPORTS WERE ISSUED UNANIMOUSLY ON THE FOLLOWING: "THE DEFECT IN THE MENTIONED VEHICLE IS A FACTORY DEFECT, WHICH WAS FOUND IN ALL VEHICLES OF THE SAME TYPE AND NOT ONLY THE MENTIONED VEHICLE". ALSO, I HAVE SUBMITTED REPORT TO THE COURT FROM THE GENERAL MOTORS WEBSITE PROVING THAT THE MENTIONED VEHICLE IS FAULTY WITH THREE OTHER DEFECTS. AS WELL AS, ALL SIX CALLS WERE ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE, INCLUDING THE MENTIONED VEHICLE, WITH THE CHASSIS NUMBER.

SPEEDWAY BOULEVARD, TUCSON, AZ, 85716) TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE BRAKES, BUT WAS NOT GIVEN A DEFINITIVE DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR WAS $22,000. THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). BRAKES DO NOT WORK WHEN IN REVERSE OR AT LOW SPEEDS. PROBLEM WAS THERE THE DAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE I BACKED INTO VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS "NORMAL" AFTER ALMOST HAVING A WRECK I DID SOME RESEARCH. HOW IS THIS NOT NATIONALLY ADVERTISED AS A RECALL YET? THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY NEGLIGENCE ON GMC'S PART. THE VACUUM PUMP IS KNOWN TO FAIL BY EVERY DEALER I HAVE CALLED. ALSO EVERYONE I KNOW WHO HAS THE SAME MODEL TRUCK ALSO LIVES WITH THIS PROBLEM.

WHILE IN A DRIVE THROUGH I WAS CREEPING UP AND WHEN TRYING TO COME TO A STOP MY BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT DEPRESS ALL THE WAY AS NORMAL AND TOOK A LONGER THAN NORMAL TIME TO STOP EVEN WITH BOTH FEET PUSHING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I ENDED UP ROLLING INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VACUUM PUMP/BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHILE BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOT, MY BRAKES BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THE PEDAL WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO PRESS AND WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE RESULT WAS THE VEHICLE ROLLING DOWN AN INCLINED PARKING LOT AND HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. NORMAL BRAKING HAD RESUMED WHEN LEAVING THE ACCIDENT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME FOR THE BRAKES TO BECOME UNRESPONSIVE AT LOW SPEEDS. APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH AGO THE SAME SITUATION HAPPENED DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT. BRAKES BECAME EXTREMELY FIRM AND UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. NO DAMAGE RESULTED FROM THAT INCIDENT. AFTER READING SEVERAL MESSAGE BOARDS, IT APPEARS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT RESULTS IN REPLACEMENT OF MULTIPLE POWER BRAKING COMPONENTS. I CURRENTLY FEEL EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THAT MY BRAKES DID NOT FAIL 5 MINUTES EARLIER WHILE PICKING UP MY CHILD FROM SCHOOL.

BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED. REPLACED BRAKES ON ALL 4 WHEELS, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THEN REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND STILL NO BRAKES. MY FENCE POLE AND MAILBOX STOPPED MY VEHICLE.
