FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL — Filed 06/26/2026

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70-75 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted; however, the failure reoccurred while driving, and the vehicle was coasted to the side of the road. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was first towed to a dealer, who denied service. The vehicle was then towed to another dealer, where metal shavings were found throughout the fuel system. The dealer cleaned the fuel tank and replaced the remaining fuel system components under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the vehicle failed to start. The dealer stated that the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) was full and needed to be replaced. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES — Filed 01/01/2026

Failed abs module prevents use of abs braking system causing wheels to lock up under hard braking. Collision almost occurred as result of wheels locking due to failed abs module and Stellantid does not have a replacement part available. Also prevent proper use of cruise control, stability/traction control and braking. Have been advised by dealerships in DeLand fl and Daytona beach fl that the part is on indefinite back order.

SERVICE BRAKES — Filed 02/01/2025

The ABS light on my dashboard came on approximately one year ago. After researching the issue, I discovered there are numerous complaints about the ABS module failing on my 2016 Ram 1500 and similar models. The replacement part is unavailable (on long-term backorder or discontinued), leaving me without functional anti-lock brakes, traction control, and electronic stability control. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive, especially on wet roads. I have been avoiding driving in bad weather as much as possible, but the truck needs immediate attention to repair this safety issue. I have already checked for open recalls using my VIN, and none apply. Please investigate this widespread defect for a potential recall or remedy.

SERVICE BRAKES — Filed 02/20/2026

Dodge Ram has know about issues with Antilock Braking System (ABS) for 2016-2018 RAM 1500's for several years, going back to as far as 2022 and RAM (Stellantis) has acknowledged wide spread issues by 2023. Ram (Stellantis) has pulled the original OEM ABS module from the marktet entirely and have basically done nothing to provide a solution to the customer. There proprietary does not allow the vehicle to go into gear and the vehicle basically becomes a $30,000 boat anchor. There are approximately 2,409 RAM dealerships in the US and approximately 2,364 Dodge dealerships in the US. I have call dealerships in NC, VA, NY, and even FL and all have told me that the part is on back order and that each dealership has any where from 20 to 30 back orders for this part. Based on that, there could be 95,000+ to 143,000+ vehicles on the road with unsafe ABS systems and RAM is doing nothing about it. RAM has had a had a few other issues with ABS module with a recall of over 1.2 Million RAM 1500's from 2019, 2021-2024 and a second for 317,000 RAM 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 for ABS issues. With that said, how is the state of North Carolina or even the United States allowing RAM trucks to even be on the road if that many are unsafe and RAM, after knowing about issues for years still allowed to sell RAM trucks.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM — Filed 05/26/2026

The vehicle was previously repaired under Recall Z46, but the replacement remedy pump suffered the exact same catastrophic internal failure. The vehicle has now been stranded at Orange Coast Ram for over 30 days under Work Order 156725. RAM Corporate Case Management (Case 96867451) is actively refusing to authorize the subsequent recall repair, explicitly stating in writing that corporate has 'no internal channels to obtain approvals,' effectively denying the legally mandated federal safety remedy.
