ENGINE — Filed 09/04/2026

The vehicle loses power unexpectedly without triggering a MIF indicator or logging a OBDII diagnostic code. The problem is the crankshaft position sensor temporarily fails causing the vehicle to stall, in my case, in stop and go traffic, which caused an accident. Once the 'Heat Soak' effect passes, the vehicle start and drives normally again. The fix, to preventing it from happening again and solving the heat soak problem, is to replace the crankshaft position sensor with an OEM part which is less susceptible to the ambient heat (heat soak) due the proximity to the exhaust manifold. And, to have the software in the PCM 'Flashed' or upgraded to allow for a greater signal tolerance from the crankshaft position sensor. The problem and fix where confirmed by Auto-Nation Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, [XXX], where I purchased the OEM part and had their service department 'Flash' the PCM for the software upgrade. The service department and the parts clerk agreed that TSB 18-020-26 applied, dated XXX. Upon further research I discovered a recall report: 18v-049 Part 573 Safety recall report. It is proof FCA US LLC (Manufacturer of my 2019 Dodge RAM 1500 Classic) knew about the problem with the Pentastar 3.6L engine. The same 3.6L engine in the recall. Or, they should have know about the potential problem. Although my vehicle was not part of the 18v-049 recall, it has the same 3.6L engine and exhibited the same engineering shortcomings as the recalled engine? As a concerned citizen I felt compelled to bring the public safety problem to your attention, even though I feel I am not the only one who has complained about the problem. And, because I feel strongly about this, I am planning to file suite in small claim court against the manufacture: FCA US LLC. AIR BAGS,WHEELS — Filed 09/03/2026

While drive northbound on [XXX] departing [XXX] and entering [XXX], the rear passenger wheel snapped off of the truck carrying sing loss of control and the truck hit a concrete median damaging the the front driver’s side bumper and forcing it into the front driver’s side wheel flattening it. Upon colliding into the concrete median no airbags deployed. Myself as the driver suffered soft tissue damage to the neck, back and arms. My service dog was also in the truck but fortunately did not suffer any injury. Fortunately no other vehicles in either direction were involved. Upon getting the vehicle onto a crossroad ([XXX]), I went into the roadway to retrieve the rear passenger wheel and disc brake to avoid any dangers to other vehicles. At the time of the accident I was only able to obtain pictures of the passenger rear damage. I was taken to hospital before I could obtain the front bumper and driver’s side front wheel damage. An insurance adjuster has not provided a copy of their inspection. Additional photos and information will be provided upon receipt. STEERING — Filed 06/10/2026

This is a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic 4x4 with a hemi engine. the power steering suddenly and with no warning stopped working when my wife was on a winding country road. There was no warning lights on the dash at all. She was unable to turn the steering wheel because the power assist stopped working. This caused her to go into the ditch, where she called me to come help her out of the ditch. I had a very hard time steering it home. We took it to the Ram dealership we bought it from, after we thought we found a recall on it. The Dealership ran our vin, and our truck was not on the recall? But the recall said 2019 Ram 1500? This could have killed someone!!! The Dealership, Parkway Chrysler Doge, Jeep, Ram in Dover Ohio was the dealership we took it to. They informed us, that the steering was shot, and it would take three months to get the steering rack, because of so many steering issues on these trucks. Why have you not stepped in to get this situation corrected?

AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS — Filed 05/14/2026

The contact owns a 2019 RAM 1500. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, occupied with four other passengers, the contact mention deer ran across the road, and he attempted to turn the vehicle to attempt not hit the deer and the contact lost control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to merge through bruises crashing into a tree. The contact stated that no air bags deployed in his vehicle and his bumper was detached. The contact stated that he sustained injuries to his neck, back, head and leg and he stated the others sustained injuries as well, however the driver has no information on their injuries at this time. Medical attention was required. The contact mention the vehicle was towed by a collision center and was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The contact stated that a police report was filed. The contact mentioned that the vehicle seat belts did not retract. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

Third Brake light (pulse brake light) causes interior leaks causing damage to electrical, interior rust on seats, water damage, headliner staining. This is a common issue. Larson Dodge in Puyallup stated they see approximately three Rams in weekly for this issue including my vehicle 1500. Dodge should do a recall to replace light and repair all damage caused by water damage.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM — Filed 02/08/2026

My 2019 ram 1500 started showing an intermittent warning light on the dash that said check check trailer brake, although I was not towing anything. I continued on my 20 minute commute and parked the vehicle to which point I noticed smoke towards the back of the vehicle. I inspected to see a small fire that apparently had started at the trailer tow module that had shorted and ignited the insulation and surrounding plastics. I was able to extinguish the fire with minimal damage to the truck, mainly the plastic paneling and the wiring and associated components were damaged. I'm reporting this because a vehicle fire is a significant safety concern and I'm probably not the first to have had this happen. I have made no aftermarket adjustments to my towing system and I've only owned the vehicle approximately over a year. The vehicle has about 83,000 miles on it currently.

The contact owns a 2019 RAM 1500. The contact stated that when his spouse started the vehicle during cold weather conditions, the engine was turned on, revved high, and the gear shift from park (P) to drive (D) inadvertently without the brake pedal being depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle jolted off and crashed into the door of a business. The contact's spouse sustained a head injury but did not receive medical attention. A police report was filed, but the info was not readily available at this time. The vehicle was taken to the spouse's residence and parked. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

STEERING,AIR BAGS — Filed 09/11/2025

I have a faulty steering column in my truck that needs to be replaced. This is not normal wear and tear. The truck only has 60k miles on it and is still under warranty till 1/17/26. The steering column is supposed to last the Life of the truck. I brought the truck to dealership (nye) to diagnose the cause of the bad steering column. But instead they tell me they cant tell me the cause of the faulty steering column. Instead I recieve a quote to pay to replace it. I have called and even emailed the manager as he is suppose to be cerified to diagnose the cause or to give his professional opinion but I get no call back or even reply to my emails. This was in an accident before but the insurance says this is not caused by the accident. Id like to mention the airbags didn't deploy when the truck drove into the telephone pole. This is unsafe to drive and needs to be addressed.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM — Filed 06/16/2025

While driving the truck completely lost all power and crashed into a side wall. Dealership stated it was an electrical issue related to steering brake rack.

STRUCTURE — Filed 09/12/2025

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact’s wife stated that while the vehicle was parked and shut off, the driver’s front door became inoperable. The contact reported that the front driver’s side door hinge began to detach, causing the contact’s wife to fall from the vehicle. As a result, the contact’s wife sustained ankle and wrist injuries and was transported to a local emergency room for treatment. The contact expressed concern that the failure posed a serious safety hazard to occupants and bystanders. The contact also stated that the front passenger’s door was beginning to exhibit similar issues, raising concern that the defect could result in additional injuries if not addressed. The contact mentioned that the passenger side door hinge was starting to detach prematurely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000. The VIN was invalid.

Alernator / generator failure. shutdown engine while driving on the highway. Steering and breaking ability severely reduced.

ENGINE — Filed 07/09/2025

EGR cooler has failed and leaked on manifold after 2 EGR bypass cooler replacements. Went online to see when original EGR recall was completed and online data base reported complete Dec 29, 2019. That particular part for the VB1 was not even ready until March-May 2020. There are also no service records or work order for that recall being completed whatsoever. The EGR cooler cracked on the manifold while driving with my kids and almost or did ignite as the whole truck was pouring smoke from behind and underneath. The dealer did inspect and confirm the damage and has been in touch with the manufacturer, acknowledges that there are no service records or work orders for that recall. Dealer acknowledged that no part was available. Manufacturer takes no responsibility but did state in e-mail they believe recall was claimed to have been done in transit during a stop sale.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,AIR BAGS,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) — Filed 08/14/2025

The contact's husband owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while entering a parking space at less than 5 MPH, the vehicle independently accelerated forward. The vehicle accelerated over the concrete parking block and crashed into the grocery store's front window. The contact stated that the incident happened so quickly that they were uncertain if any warning lights appeared on the instrument panel or if the brake pedal was depressed during the acceleration. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact and her husband were taken to the hospital by ambulance; however, neither suffered any injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard before the contact's insurance had the vehicle towed to an independent body repair shop. The contact stated that the store's large front glass was shattered as a result of the accident, but was unaware if any other property was damaged. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had yet been notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000(Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V407000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts); both recalls were previously serviced on the vehicle. The vehicle remained in the possession of the independent body shop and had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

STEERING — Filed 05/11/2025

I just got off the highway where I was driving 65mph. I was drive down the road with a passenger making a right hand turn. In the middle of the turn the power steering stopped working and I proceeded to go straight. I was able to stop before crashing into a wall. I couldn’t only imagine the pannic of losing power steering at 65mph on a high way. The dealer said I need a $3,000 rack and Pinion. All over the internet it shows the 2019 ram was built with a faulty power steering and a lot were recalled. I don’t see how the recall didn’t make it to my vehicle but it almost caused a huge accident.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES — Filed 09/30/2024

I am experiencing an Antilock Braking System ('ABS') control module software malfunction that disables the Electronic Stability Control ('ESC') system. Last fall Sept 2024 was the first incident. I was driving back one night to my cabin construction project in Somerset, PA. It rained earlier in the day and everything was wet. I was almost back to the site, my dash lights started wildly flashing. The ESC SYSTEM OFF displayed, the (ABS) light illuminated along with SERVICE THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. The front passenger side tire started to shake, just as I was trying to avoid a large pothole around a bend. My truck slid straight across it and slammed my front end down in the ditch. I had NO CONTROL. It caused my side airbags to deploy and the seatbelts to lock up. I drove out of the ditch, the truck was ok. I was close so i drove to the cabin. The next morning I inspected everything, in addition: the front bumper was bent, fog light hanging, wheel well was bent, and there were a lot of scratches. I am a small business owner, I didn't want my insurance to go up, and was waiting until I could afford to fix it. The latest incidents were during the last two weeks. First, I was driving on a 70 MPH highway, suddenly service air pressure system displayed and passenger tire pressure went to “0”, the ABS and ESC warnings displayed, and that tire started shaking. I pulled over to check the tire thinking I had a flat , but it was fully inflated. I turned off the truck, waited 5 mins then started it back up, "fixed" then drove home. Since then, the truck is randomly locking that brake, while I'm driving. THREE separate times it has locked up. I thought I was dragging something one day as I was backing up. Next day I was backing out of my driveway quickly and it caused me to slide into the road. I test drove away slowly, seemed fine. I went through the three stop signs to get out of my plan. It locked up at the third stop sign, as i turned right almost threw me into the sign.

Hit a very large cow early in the morning going about 40-45 mph. Not one single airbag deployed. There was no indication that they wouldn't work. The seatbelt was the only thing that kept him was going anywhere... If the airbags had gone off his head and neck wouldn't of snapped forward. We have police report pictures and can get insurance report. Contacted Ram and they said there wasn't anything they could do. After a year of doctors I contacted Ram back and still nothing they can do.

SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE — Filed 01/14/2025

When I attempted to suddenly brake once I saw the car in front of me braking, my brakes locked and the truck slid into the vehicle in front of me. The failure of the ESC system did not allow the expected intervention that is relied upon to avoid a vehicle crash without prior warning. I was in the deceleration phase of braking quickly, but the brakes did not respond in a timely manner. I was not made aware of the recall of the ABS control module software until after the accident took place. If I would have been made aware of such a defect I would have taken the precautions and action to repair or remedy the failed system to avoid unnecessary risk to both myself and others. Sep 05, 2024 Manufacturer Recall Number: 75B NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-653 Recall Status Recall Incomplete Summary Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard ("FMVSS") 571.126 S5.1.2 ESC Functionality requires that the ESC system "Is operational during all phases of driving including acceleration, coasting, and deceleration (including braking) [ ... ]." Suspect vehicles may experience the ESC system being disabled when certain conditions are met. Safety Risk Failure of the ESC system when intervention is expected and/or relied upon can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Remedy FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to update the ABS control module software.

The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, a Kia Forte ran a red light traveling at approximately 70 MPH, T-boned/crashed on the passenger side, which pushed the vehicle into oncoming traffic, and a Toyota Tundra crashed into the front of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The front airbags did not deploy. The curtain airbag deployed. The contact sustained injuries to his back and shoulder, and medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to his residence. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was contacted and informed about sending an inspector to assess the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) — Filed 12/07/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the contact attempted to avoid crashing into a bicyclist and depressed the brake pedal however, the brakes failed to engage. As a result, the front passenger side of the vehicle crashed into a tree; before the crash, there was an abnormal sound whenever the brake pedal was depressed. In addition, the "Service Anti-Lock Brake System" message was intermittently displayed on the instrument panel. There was severe cosmetic damage. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained shoulder and back pain injuries due to the impact and received medical treatment for the injuries. No one who was not in the vehicle was injured. The vehicle was taken back to the place of residence; a dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 22 MPH, an unknown vehicle crashed into the side panel, however, the air bag did not deploy. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was no reported fire or injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. SERVICE BRAKES — Filed 09/06/2024

The contact owns a 2019 RAM 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60-65 MPH another vehicle made an illegal u-turn causing traffic to abruptly stop, the brake pedal was depressed however the vehicle skidded and crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front. The contact mentioned that the vehicle crashed into also crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. Two occupants from the other vehicles involved sustained unknown injuries reported by the insurance company to the contact. The vehicle was taken to a collision center for cosmetic repairs. The contact noticed via the manufacturer's app that the license plate for the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) and took the vehicle to a dealer where the recall was no longer linked to the vehicle therefore the dealer declined the recall remedy. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the failure of the brakes. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM — Filed 03/11/2020

I was driving a new truck i had purchased from a dodge dealer , i was rear-ended at highway speed, the truck lost control and went off road hitting a earthen burm head on, flipped and came to rest on the roof. The traction control didn't work, the front impact airbags did not deploy and the engine was still running while the truck was upside-down Download of the trucks ECM shows the srs seat position sensor was not configured from the factory. The factory did issue a recall identifying the seat position sensors as a component needed for the airbags to function I suffered a concussion ,neck injuries, both knees needed surgery 1 surgery on the left 3 on the right i am scheduled for a knee replacement and temporary paralysis My wife suffered a severed ACL and had to have it replaced

AIR BAGS — Filed 01/12/2024

I was rear ended very hard, the car had to have been going at least 50 mph and didn't brake. It lifted the rear wheels of my truck off the ground, and the airbag light came on but none of the airbags deployed. This caused or exacerbated injury to my right leg and a laceration in the back of my head, concussion and TBI. I was in and out of consciousness. The police report contains a statement they said I wrote, but I think the passenger in my car wrote it It makes no sense and I saw it the 1st time when the report was emailed to me.
