How this compares
At 21 MPG combined, the 2025 Land Rover Discovery ranks 5th of 6 standard SUVs (4WD) EPA rated for 2025 — 1 MPG short of the 22 MPG median for that group.
That places it in the lower third of its class. If annual mileage is high, the running-cost gap against a class-average rival compounds quickly.
EPA puts annual fuel spend at about $3,600, $300 more than the $3,300 typical for the class. Over five years at 15,000 miles a year that is roughly $18,000, a $1,500 difference against a class-median vehicle.
Tailpipe CO₂ is 421 grams per mile — about 6.3 metric tons over 15,000 miles of driving.
Consumer complaints
No owner complaints filed with NHTSA for this model year.
Nothing on file. Newer model years often have few complaints simply because fewer cars are on the road yet.
