Elevated severity

This campaign addresses a defect NHTSA classifies as carrying elevated crash or injury risk.

What the defect is

Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Air vehicles running software release versions 2.1.2 through 2.1.26. The software may cause a fault while the adaptive cruise control is on, resulting in a loss of drive power.

Why it matters

A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Lucid released an over-the-air (OTA) software update in October 2023, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 8, 2024. Owners may contact Lucid customer service at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-24-02-0.

The manufacturer reports this remedy can be delivered as an over-the-air software update — a workshop visit may not be required.

What this page does not include

NHTSA's public recall feed does not supply an affected-population count, the manufacturer's own campaign number, owner-notification dates or a defect chronology for this campaign. Rather than estimate them, we omit them. Confirm whether a specific vehicle is affected — and whether the repair has already been done — using its VIN.
