Risk

An inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

When the master headlight switch is set to the AUTO position, the driver may be unable to quickly activate the high beams. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Risk

A child that is not properly restrained during a crash can have an increased risk of injury.

Remedy

Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed.
